Researchers have tried to make insulin tablets in the past, but the biggest obstacle to oral insulin is the neutral particles of stomach acid, which prevent them from getting into the intestines.
Dr. M says a technique has been developed that USES C vesicles to coat insulin, creating a barrier between insulin and stomach acid that does not absorb it. Once C reaches the intestinal tract, it can be absorbed by the body. After the vesicles enter the blood through the intestinal tract, the cells break down the lipid vesicles containing insulin to release insulin.
Researchers have now done animal experiments on vesicles.
