Obesity is associated with insulin resistance. Studies have shown that people who are obese (especially those with an "apple-shaped" waist that is larger than their hips) are more likely to develop insulin resistance. This is related to the increased volume of adipocytes, the relative decrease of receptors and the decrease of insulin sensitivity. This kind of fat person produces diabetic especially, hypertension, coronary heart disease and fatty liver wait for a disease to happen.
